Retreat Sponsorship & Promotion

Here are some things you need to know as a Sponsor:

1)  Mail in forms are one of the easiest ways to invite someone on an ACTS Retreat.  Although we do recommend that people register online, we do accept Mail in forms, and let's face it, it's easier to hand someone a piece of paper than a computer screen! 

It is not uncommon for these mail in forms to be placed in birthday cards, Christmas cards, or in the bread box (yes, that has happened!).  We ask that you pray over all the forms you hand out, letting the Spirit guide who goes on retreat when.  Miracles happen when you give out the forms and let the Spirit take it from there!  To print off mail in forms to give to potential retreatants

2)  Be a good contact for the retreatants that you sponsor.  Although clearly we want to save some surprises for the weekend, one surprise shouldn't be they forgot their hair dryer because you didn't know they should bring one!

3)  Be in prayer for your retreatant.  Nearly everyone who has gone through the weekend knows all about the nerves and "unknown" associated with it.  Further, it is not unusual for spiritual attacks to occur trying to convince retreatants not to go (children getting sick, uncertain time-off policies at work, etc.)  So as soon as you get a confirmation that the retreatant you are sponsoring is going, start praying for them and invite others in the community to pray for them as well.

4)  Join the prayer board for the weekend to offer a special hour of prayer for all those on retreat and for Team.  This gives you a way to "be connected" in spirit even though you can't be connected in the physical realm.

5)  Go to the services during the weekend!  Retreatants are often so thrilled to see people they know at the services.  Be there for them!  Pray for them!  We know it will mean so very much to them!

6)  Invite their close family to the services.  Yes, fathers, mothers, children, and spouses ARE welcome at these (even if they have never been on an ACTS Retreat).  Inclusion is better than exclusion!  Please do your best to include the retreatant's family and close loved ones if at all possible.
