You have seen that ACTS is doing a fundraiser…why?
What a person (team or retreatant) pays for a retreat is $175.00. The actual cost of a retreat (per team member and retreatant) is at least $240. That means, our movement (community) picks up the balance of $65.00 per person. Our leadership does not want to charge $240, so we’re having a fundraiser to try to make up the difference. Also, we have worked out with the retreat center that we will use the center for all of our formation meetings. There are thirteen formation meetings for each retreat. We pay the retreat center $50 for each formation meeting. 13 meetings X 6 retreats = 78 meetings. 78 meetings X $50 = $3,900, which we pay the retreat center over and above the cost of actually putting on the retreats. This is why we do one fundraiser a year—to cover the “gap” between the cost and what we charge AND to pay for the formation meetings. I hope you understand the need and can help us.
Further, we would like everyone to know from the leadership that the Closing Mass for EVERY retreat at Our Lady of Vietnam is OPEN to ALL… ACTS Community members, retreatant family members, and anyone else who would like to join us. This is a Community Event, and you are welcome and encouraged to attend.
We are blessed and all the honor and glory belongs to almighty God and Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Monsignor Harold Waldow, Lead Chaplain to ACTS Amarillo
As of 7-19-2016, we have sold only 10% of the tickets. Please help us make this fundraiser successful so we can bridge the gap for the coming year!
"I just want to give a big THANK YOU to all the members of CORE for all that you do. You work so very hard "behind the scenes" to make sure everything runs smoothly for all the "Send-Off's", "Candlelights", Closing Masses & Meals for ALL the retreats. I know that takes a lot of time & effort. So thank you for your generous contribution. And that goes for all the past members of CORE also. ACTS could not continue without the support and sacrifice of so many who know the real meaning of the "S" in ACTS. (Service)" From Myrna Brorman, ACTS Spiritual Companion
